Step into the production workshop of Kunshan Yingliyue Electronics, and you’ll witness a remarkable scene: inside a high-vacuum chamber, an invisible “magic” is quietly unfolding. Ordinary metal, plastic, or ceramic components, through a series of physical transformations, “grow” a uniform, dense, a

PVD (Physical Vapor Deposition) and CVD (Chemical Vapor Deposition) are two major thin-film coating technologies. PVD vaporizes materials through physical means (e.g., heating or sputtering), resulting in strong adhesion but slower deposition rates. CVD forms coatings via chemical reactions, off
As a new polishing process, plasma polishing is a trend in stainless steel polishing. If we can make good use of plasma polishing will save us a lot of time and costs.

As we stand at the beginning of 2025 and look back at the evolution of PVD (Physical Vapor Deposition) technology, the journey has not been easy — from decorative coatings in the early days, to today’s balance of functionality and aesthetics, and now to an indispensable part of high-end manufacturing. As someone who has witnessed and contributed to this journey, I believe the next decade for the PVD industry is just beginning.
Over the past ten years, the core competitiveness of the PVD industry lay in answers to questions like “how thin, how hard, how dark can we coat?” But today, customers are no longer satisfied with improvements in single coating properties. What they need is a one-stop solution that covers CNC, polishing, cleaning, PVD, laser engraving, and final inspection.
As early as 2021, Yingliyue established exactly this kind of full-process capability in Nantong, Jiangsu. We are not only coating experts — we are system integrators for surface treatment. In the future, the winners will be those who can shorten supply chains, reduce communication costs, and improve yield rates for their customers.
Smartphones, PCs, and wearables remain the main battlefield for PVD, but we are seeing rapidly growing demand in areas such as automotive interior parts, medical devices, and smart home products.
Take automotive as an example: Mercedes-Benz keys, Hongqi H9 interior parts, Lotus Eletre center console trim, Tank 500 logos — these high-end vehicles demand color consistency, wear resistance, and weatherability that often exceed consumer electronics requirements. Medical devices, with their strict demands for biocompatibility and corrosion resistance, present entirely new challenges for PVD processes.
Yingliyue is already certified with IATF-16949, ISO9001, and other standards, and has delivered multiple mass-production projects in the automotive and medical sectors. Over the next five years, these fields are expected to contribute more than 50% of our revenue growth.
DLC (Diamond-Like Carbon) coatings — known for their high hardness, low friction coefficient, and biocompatibility — are becoming a new standard for premium products. Products like the Apple Watch, Xiaotiancai Z9, and Beats headphone hinges are already using DLC in mass production.
At the same time, functional coatings such as AF (Anti-Fingerprint), AG (Anti-Glare), and AR (Anti-Reflective) are being combined, pushing PVD from “single coating” toward “multi-functional coating systems.”
None of this is possible without upstream polishing/grinding and downstream laser engraving & inspection. Yingliyue currently operates 40 lapping/polishing machines, 10 cleaning lines, and a wide range of high-precision inspection instruments (nano-indentation tester, 3D CMM, constant temperature & humidity chambers, etc.), forming a complete, high-precision surface treatment production line.
One of the biggest pain points in the PVD industry is yield fluctuation. Behind yield lies the gap in inspection capability.
At our Nantong facility, we have introduced an AI-assisted optical inspection system, combined with 2.5D measuring instruments, 1000x microscopes, metallographic sectioning equipment, and more. This has allowed us to move from manual sampling to intelligent full inspection. Over the next three years, we aim to further enable realtime feedback of inspection data and closedloop process control, with a target of stabilizing singlebatch yields above 98%.
PVD is inherently a vacuum process and is more environmentally friendly than electroplating. But we don’t stop there. Yingliyue is actively promoting the following green initiatives:
Recycling and reuse of coating target materials
Pilot project for zerodischarge cleaning lines
Plantwide energy efficiency monitoring and optimization
We believe green manufacturing is not a cost — it is a passport to future markets.
This is not just a slogan; it is a clear technology roadmap:
Short term (1–2 years): Deepen our presence in 3C and wearables; strengthen integrated DLC + AF + polishing capabilities.
Medium term (3–5 years): Expand into automotive and medical sectors; build a portfolio of benchmark customers.
Long term (5–10 years): Enter highend fields such as semiconductor and optical coatings; establish a global service network.
PVD is not a “fast track” — but it is a “deep track.” It demands patience, accumulated experience, and a deep respect for materials and processes.
In just twelve years, Yingliyue has grown from one coating machine to 32 machines, from 800 square meters to 40,000 square meters, from a single process to a onestop solution provider. We firmly believe that in the next decade, we will stand on an even bigger stage, working with customers around the world to codefine the future of surface treatment.
